The “X” and/or “Close” text/button is a mandatory element for Expanded Advertising Units. Other texts/words and icons with similar meaning to “X” and/or “Close” can be used.

Rollovers (Mouse Rollover to Expand)

The advertisement,

  1. should contain either a Hotspot – No larger than 1/4 the size of the Advertisement Unit.
  2. or Delay – Requires the user/viewer to hover over the Advertisement for one second before expanding.
  3. must collapse when the cursor leaves the designated Advertisement.
  4. Audio if being used, must only be initiated on User Click.

Animation Length

10-30 seconds for Base Unit/Advertisement. Unlimited for the expanded panel when used.

Frame Rate

20 fps (Frames-per-Second) Maximum.

CPU/Bandwidth Consumption

  1. Vendor and/or Advertiser should consume no more than 15-20 percent of users CPU/Memory Resources on an Average System (Stock-Average-System).
  2. Initial load allowed is a maximum of 100kb, with up to 3 sub-loads with a maximum of 100kb each and must be user-initiated (i.e. on user click or rollover).

AV (Audio/Video) User Controls

  1. Audio has to start muted and be initiated when a User clicks on the Advertisement.
  2. Audio/Video must have and display “Play/Pause”, “Stop” and Volume (Mute and/or Volume bar) Controls at all times.
  3. Automated Video Presentations and/or Animations can play for a maximum of 30 seconds.

  1. 50kb Image (Gif/Jpeg) for users and/or viewers who are not able to view or expand the rich media content due to Software restrictions.
  2. Animation has a maximum viewing length of 30 seconds.

Please set all expanding/expanded Advertisements with a Z-Index of over 1000.
